Russ was very pleased to have been awarded the commission for a major re-ordering of this Church after a limited competition.

The church is Grade 2 Listed and the alterations included the removal of all of the pews, except on the west gallery, and the provision of a new floor with underfloor heating. The other 2 galleries and restrictive entrance lobbies and stairs were removed to improve access, permit a variety of chair layouts and create light and space.

A fixed oak screen was provided at the east end to enclose the altar and reredos and create a prayer chapel which is used for small services. The screen accommodates 3 electrically operated projection screens which are used during worship. A high quality sound system was also provided.

A sliding glazed screen under the retained west gallery provides a separate meeting room which can be incorporated into the church for large services. New glazed doors were provided to the 3 entrances with the existing timber doors retained as internal shutters for security. A new glazed link between the church and the church hall provides a light and attractive greeting area.

The re-ordering contract included some essential repairs and was completed in 2010 by local contractor Skinner Construction Ltd. at a cost of £450,000.
